Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

I was wondering how to start a blog. I wanted to show a simple progression from the nothingness, of someone who didn't know anything, not squat-diddly ... to the awesomeness, that I believe myself capable of. I searched the tutorials, and the forums, and in my despair, I cried into the void. Finally, before giving up and asking the question, the "Gods of Administration", in all of their intuitive glory, have waved the wand of permissiveness, and granted access to this page. ...
I'm feeling generous so If you're wanting a commercial use license for any of my art just message me your request so we can work out the details.
I finished the Fort Pitt map I wanted and have made plans to enter it at the Art All Night event in Pittsburgh (thus why I went with Fort Pitt). I'm super excited! Check out the photo of it I posted and let me know what you think. https://www.cartographersguild.com/a...6&d=1556295445 Thanks everyone!
Continued with using dip pen and ink. Just playing around. The map shoreline was inspired by Gearworlds boardgame, which I don't think that did well in sales did have a map I liked. As for my map I've inked in the shoreline, mountains and cliffs(albeit those are barely visible). I intend to us colour pencils to draw the rivers and everything else. Well maybe ink in the forests.
Drew this one to teat out using pen and ink (dip pen) and then begun to colour, but alas the map just working for me to finish the color and begun another map.
