Sept/October 2018 Lite Challenge : Map a location from a Harry Potter Movie
The Sept/Oct Lite Challenge is up and running, and it's one for Harry Potter fans. We want you to map a location from a Harry Potter movie. Bogie writes...
This month's Challenge is to create a map based on any location from any one of the Harry Potter movies. It could be a very specific location like Dumbledore's room or the whole of Hogwart's Castle. It could be The Weasley's house or a map of England showing where all the secret locations are. All kinds of ways to do this, can't wait to see what you come up with.
More info in the intro thread here.
September 2018 challenge : Stairway to Heaven
There's about a week remaining to enter September's regular challenge, so if you plan to submit a map, get moving! Ilanthar's in charge this month, and he says...
The idea is to map some ideal place, paradise or eden.
Sounds like a great challenge, even for a cartographer turned god for a moment, doesn't it? Whether you choose to depict a classic christian paradise, some nordic feasting hall of Valhalla, greek elysean fields or pardes, the city of Luz or imagine what could be the paradise in a fictional world, let's the demiurge inside you inspire your work!

Mapping Challenge Suggestions
We've had a new suggestion from Larb for a future mapping challenge. She writes...
Redraw an old map
Basically, take an old map and redraw it. You'd need to post the original version of the map.
I'm not sure if this should be a Main or Lite challenge or simply some kind of guild exercise that isn't actually voted on. But I've done this thing personally and I think it can be a great confidence booster for people.

If you have an idea that you think would work for a challenge, post a poll and some info on how you think the challenge would work in the 'Mapping Challenge Suggestions' folder.
