Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Right back at ya Cornelia. I was just heading over to thank you for the rep and comments. It could easily have gone another direction and I'd be congratulating you on the win. This one was close and rightly so. Everyone put in strong entries.
Thank you for the rep, John, and congratulations on your win!
Thank you very much for the vote on Nippur! And congrats on your own win of this challenge!! Some very fine work
Thank you very much for the rep on Nippur! I'm so glad to know that someone I admire so much actually likes it
Thank you Cornelia. I really like this challenge as it gets us all to do so many varied and wonderful maps.
Thanks Cornelia. Those dots were one of my last bits and I wasn't completely sure about them. Tried them 3 or 4 different ways before reaching the current version. I'm glad they work.
Thank you Cornelia. I was compelled to get that map done so I could focus on my other work. I was on the fence about it at first, as I had some words in english and most weren't. I decided to have none in english in the end.
Hopefully He said he would.
Thanks Cornelia. Is Andre sending a book to you?
Yeah, I was pretty happy with how the cover came out. The interior art was changed some. I know why so I can't fault them but it is not quite as interesting. It did show me that I need to use more contrast when greyscale is done for a book. Your map looks good in there. I'll try to get some pics today if I can.
