Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Thanks for the rep Martin. Glad you liked the map. Re the graph paper, it doesn't really matter what colour your graph paper is, so long as there is a notable difference between your line work and the grid so the selection tools can do their job and select one or the other, however you prefer to work.
Hey Martin, my treasure map was drawn on graph paper with a blue grid. Once I inked and scanned it I selected just the ink work with the magic wand/fuzzy select tool and copied it to a new layer. Viola, no grid lines and decent line work. Try it when you get the chance...
Many thanks for the rep and vote damonjynx! I'm glad you like the map
