Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.
If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ. You will have to register before you can post or view full size images in the forums.
I see we have quite a few new members to Campaigning cartographers! Mappy, ArgoFrog, and LordEntrails, I've seen on old posts at.the profantasy site; some of you are new, like Paulo and Kevin. I thought it might be a good idea to introduce ourselves, and maybe tell something about ourselves and out mapping tendencies. It's strictly optional, of course... I just thought it might help us get to know each other. So I will get this started. Im ladiestorm, both here and at the profantasy forums. I'm a writer/crafter/gamer and GM. I bought cc3+, cd3 and dd3, back in Feb. To make maps for a 5th ed. D&D campaign I'm creating. I then found D out how much I love making maps! I also have some novels I'm working on I plan to make maps for, and I've even started making g maps for other people.
...and I am Mouse here, but Loopysue over at Profantasy. I started making maps to illustrate my novels (unpublished), and got bitten by the bug Welcome to the group, and please feel free to add whatever maps you would like to share with us to our group album
Hi Folks, I'm Jim or DamonJynx pretty much everywhere else. Long time player of RPGs both as a player and GM. Currently favouring the D100 rulest, particularly The Design Mechanism's Mythras and Classic Fantasy games. Recently upgraded my 13 year old Mac and lost Adobe CS4 (doesn't work in 64-bit...), so bit the bullet and bought CC3+ Humble Bundle which is probably all I'll need. I do some cartography work for TDM, particularly in an old-school dungeon style and have had 1 adventure published. I intend to create maps both for TDM and Roll20 modules using CC3+.
