Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Thanks for the rep. Boy that was awhile ago ! In that instance I did some pre work in Photoshop "Levels" to bring out the contrast. "Color range" to remove the ocean. I also made separate masks for separate heights so that once in Wilbur I could concentrate on different heights separately. Back in photoshop I used " lighting effects" to further adjust the light and shadows. I've progressed alot since then ! Check out August's challenge or well of souls in my album.
I joined this forum last week after finding this huge trove of impressive work. Out of sheer curiosity I did a search for a particular search term on this forum and a post of yours popped up as the (only) match. Apparently you play or played Particracy at some point? I'm its creator :-)
Thanks for the RepWhack on the heraldry images
