Thanks! The two lakes were originally clouds, but I was not sure what to do with the endlessness of sky so changed them to lakes and added forests, farms, and so forth.

I couldn't possibly good choice. Only one thought, with pieces that have depth like this it's a good idea to use multiple colors/values for atmospheric perspective so near vs far elements don't fight for the same space.

Floating islands are always a good choice

Maybe a digital treatment to add some blur to the background and like Chashio said, some lighter colors to emulate mist ...

Thanks for your great suggestions but it was written in stone long before I could read them. Lol.

It took 5 hours to draw and color it, and another 17 minutes to literally iron the wrinkles out of the warped paper and touch it up in GIMP. If yall think I exceeded the limit to much, that is fine with me if you disqualify it. I just could not upload it at the 5 hour mark.

Lovely! And no, de buckling paper and making the scan presentable does not count toward creation time here, not in my book anyway.

Thank! I hope the challenge leaders feel the same. lol.

I've used water color pencils with better success. I'm not sure what was the matter with this one. I guess, I was drawing too light and the water could not spread the small amount of pigment.

Sounds plausible. Too much water to pigment ratio is often a stumbling block with water media. Also too much water to paper not designed for water media ratio. I'm surprised it worked as well as it did.

By the way, your latest wip tag is missing the last # so the color version isn't showing up in the thumbnails.

Whoa! Thanks for notifying me. I have been copying and pasting the tag from previous posts. Apparently, I have been making this mistake with the last several updates!
