Wip Westeros: A Map of The North

    Hi all,

This is my first post and first satisfying attempt at a fictional map. I mostly created this just to pass some time a few evenings ago, but it ended up being more fun than I anticipated. I'll likely continue to work on it stylistically, as well as expanding it to cover more of Westeros.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

Tear's map of Westeros is mind-blowing and has me a bit jaded.. but actually this is quite a nice map.. good work!

Thanks! Yes - Tear's map is phenomenal! It was the basis for my decision to add subtle texture to mine, as it began as only a simple artificial shaded relief.

That's great work! I love the mountains; any chance you'd share how you did those?

Smooth and soft - very nice; but maybe change the black text to gray or brown or a dull green or dull blue.

Welcome to the Guild Stevens! Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff. It would be great to see a more detailed explanation of your workflow (I saw the bit you posted on cartotalk).

Absolutely - I'll write up a brief tutorial, perhaps this weekend if I get a moment.

    Awesome!!!!!!

(Extra super-duper exclamation points added because just 'Awesome!' was too short. )
