    Default *** January 2019 VOTING: Map a Dystopia ***

The first challenge of 2019 was to map a dystopia - how you chose to interpret that was up to you. We have seven STRONG contenders this month, and voting will be... difficult. For me, anyway!

    Here are the entries:

    Dystopian Goodness!

(Make sure you click on each image to see a larger version.)

Voting ends around this time on Sunday night; may the best f**ked up world win!

SPECIAL NOTE: Next month will be our special 'Commission a Guilder' Challenge, so start thinking now about who you want to partner up with, and contact that person!

Holy hell, this month was filled with just astounding entries! Honestly any of them would deserve something for their efforts. I still have two clear faves, but all of them are great. Excellent work, everyone!

And HELL YES, BRING ON THE FEBRUARY CHALLENGEEEE!!!!
... I'm probably more excited about this than I really should be.

I'm really surprised by all the good stuff you came to with a theme quite difficult to draw, in my opinion ! Good job !!!

Welp... I really love the Ringworld Map but I'm not sure if it shows a dystopia.

I'm new to all this, so I don't know if I can vote, but I wanted to spend a word about the works I like most:

    Frosgard
    by XCali

I find it so romantic. I think it can be executed in a better way. I see a huge difference of style between the ice and how the houses are made. so this confuses a little my opinion.
But i see something so romantic with a sense of lonlyness.
I think MOOD is everything in art. and this is why Frosgard stands in my favourites.
Also, this is a good vision of a dystopian alternative world.

    RingWorld

    The execution here is FLAWLESS.
I LOVE (I fu**ing Caps-love this). On the other hand I don't catch the distopian feel. It looks a little scifi for my taste but this is something i need to solve withmyself i guess lol (from my entry it is clear i'm a bit confuse about it.
I love the font, the sens eof looking on a screen. So a modern map should be in a screen, for the direction we are taking.
I love the idea that the world is artificially recreated in this floating ring.
Maybe i was expecting for some different biomas in a dystopian universe.

So i'm 50% for these authors.

Let me know if can entry my vote (whenever i'll choose) lol

Sure, you can vote (I did). It's a multiple choice vote, so you can vote for more than one entry if you feel they deserve it.
And rep is always a way to show your appreciation, as usual .

Yeah, what Ilanthar said - every Guild member can always vote, even if they are participating. I think you technically can even vote for yourself, even if it's most likely considered bit of a jerk move

I voted for all of them. I've never done that before. I'd never do it if I didn't think they all deserved to win.

Good job, guys. Onward! To victory!
