    Post The Continent of Absalon

Here is the final image of the continent of Absalon. The colours have gone a bit off in the postwork, but I'm sick of it now!

Wow! Very nice presentation! That is absolutely an entry in an atlas. Beautiful.

Very, very nice, ravs! I absolutely LOVE the book idea!!! The actual image of the book you have here is too pixelated and such to work IMO, but the idea--oh man--that is definitely on my list of the coolest cartographic ideas ever! We need to find some images of books like that; a refreshing change from the "weathered paper with burnt edges." You've inspired me!

Oh, and you map is pretty sweet too! Great work!

Thanks guys. Yeah, the book is pretty horrid. I pulled an image off the web and had to resize it fairly dramatically. I'm really tempted to get one of those new 'interpolating' resizing bits of software, bicubic doesn't really cut it.

I'm with you, Don, I'm pretty bored of the old crumpled parchment approach. Someone posted a map which was circular and at an angle...which looked really refreshing. Really need to play with some different approaches on composition and presentation.

lol...now I just need to write the story that goes with the map!

:Edit: Oh, Don, I downloaded the Urasia font set from the guy who does the woodcut tutorial (used it for the city maps and a couple of other elements on the map) worth looking into.
