    Post Hello everyone!

My name is Leandro, I am a Brazilian professor, my area of expertise is classical languages (Latin/ancient Greek) and besides the insterest on fantasy settings and maps related to it, I would like to share and learn some techniques of map creation in order to improve my classes with didatic maps.

More than once as a literature teacher I have bumped into some explanatory problems due to lack of specific diagrams and maps, mainly when dealing with specific historical scenarios that are not notorious enough to justify the production on large scale of a map by editors.

And of course, besides that, there is the regular need to improve the maps on my fantasy games .

So, I would like to learn some techniques in these foruns and maybe share something that I may have discovered by myself if it is worthy of any attention.

Well, I am sure there's a lot to learn here and I hope I can be of some help too.

    Thanks for letting me in.

    Leandro

Welcome to the Guild, Leandro; good to have you here. As long as you're not the type of role-playing professor in this book, that is.

Hello Leandro! Welcome to the Guild!

To get you started, there is a great tutorial in the sticky section of Tutorials, called
Quickstart Guide to Fantasy Mapping: http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=4276

    From there, go to
Hand Drawn Mapping for the Artistically Challenged: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=10655

Once you have completed those two tutorials, you'll be well on your way!!

And be sure not to miss
How to Get Your Rivers in the Right Place: http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=3822

    and
    The Most Common Reality Errors:
    http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=30156

Have fun and I'll look forward to seeing your first map post!
