    Default Hi there!

Hi there! I'm the enlightened alcoholic! Don't worry though, I'm probably not drunk most of the time (probably).

So I've been drawing some crude maps for my DND group and for a game I'm working on but I've always been a little let down by the quality of them compared to how much time I put into them. I've got quite a bit of photoshop editing experience but not in actually drawing stuff. After failing misarbly I've tried a few different tools but none of them (might be because they're demo version) where able to do everything I wanted. I kind of gave up on creating a visually pleasing map but that changes today! I really want to redo the map I've drawn previously and noticed the great tutorials and artists on this forum. So I'll be following a few of those tutorials and posting my creation afterwards, I'd love to get your undiluted feedback.

And if anyone has any tips on where to get started or what tools to use then please tell me!

Hi EA and welcome to the guild. I'd suggest you work through a couple of tutorials just to learn some basic techniques, then start a thread in one of the Work-in-progress folders and post updates there as you work on your map. That'll allow people to offer help.

There are loads of different Photoshop tutorials for various styles so I'm sure you'll find something to suit you. There are two threads below that will hopefully get you started...

    Welcome

Those links above are for sure good and enough to be busy with for a while. On my journey I just googled "how to draw maps/mountains/forests"
