Default experiments for map making in Blender

Here is an experiment I've done for making maps in Blender
From a map supplied by our GM, I made scenery in Blender that sorta matched it using building models from opengameart ( cc-0 ) and some buildings I made for 3d printing for modern micro-armor ( 6mm) wargaming.
I figured all I had to do was render it from the top, down and it should be good
Clearly I need to learn how to texture scenery and lighting better ( I'm okay with modeling though )

I hadn't thought about using Blender to create maps -- thanks for sharing!

Thats pretty neat. I tried Blender some years back and found the user interface hard work. But I am told that it was accepted by the devs that it was lacking and completely re-engineered and is now much superior to how it used to be. One day I will have another go at it. Without question it is a very powerful app and can do amazing things and it just takes a lot of learning. Have a browse through some of the maps by the member Falconius who has supplied some wonderful examples over the years.
