    Wip December 2010 Entry- Maargard

We'll see if I can finish this.
I decided for an old-style map of an Renaissance/Viking-style civilization. The life containing 'worlds' are actually planet-sized moons of a gas giant.

Initially I had thought about a brownish looking map, but I like the colored version somewhat more.

First mountains and rivers added, also quarter circles in the corners of the map, which needs to be filled with some deco elements, probably famous explorers or their ships or important sites like a famous lighthouse. I'm open for suggestions.
Btw, this is 50% map size.

Has a bit of a different look but it's pretty cool all the same.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

Thank you, Ascension. First I had thought about an old-style look of the 16th or 17th century, but then I thought this is another planet, the guys there like to make maps with fancy colours.

Everything you touch becomes a thing of beauty, Sapiento. I love the land distribution you've got with all those islands. My favourite bit is the planetary slice in the middle, but the whole thing is just fantastic. Can't wait to see it finished. It's all so incredibly sharp too.

I've added some trees in the northern region of the left side and also put some light on the mountains and hills.
