Just playing, kind of "esher" like stairwell. Think I can do the line work ok, but the shading scares me. We'll see where it goes.WhichWayIsUp2.jpg

It is already quite a cool idea for a map.
May I ask why the shading is scaring you, specifically?

Shadowing shows the height/depth of many objects in a top/down map. Not sure I can trick your eye into believing two different directions - take a look at this simple test with light coming from one direction - since this is a dungeon type map, maybe I'm over thinking and could just do really small candle lights along the path. Just thought of that, thanks for askng the question!SHADOW TEST ONE.jpgSHADOWTESTTWO.jpg
Great concept and interested to see how you develop it.

Hahaha I looked at the map before I read your post and was thinking, "Cool! Escher meets D&D!" So I think you're succeeding in implementing your concept Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
