Map Endless City of Aeternum (RPG Map)

Hi all, here is my 3rd map.

For these maps I built on my previous development techniques, but I also needed to develop a new style that would fit the specific needs of this book.

    • Gothic Horror setting. So I chose a sickly green and black colour scheme that felt oppressive.
    • This is an endless city that goes on forever in every direction. So I had the city continue on past the boarders of the map.
    • This city is incredibly dense. So I chose a style of detailing and texturing (I used silhouettes of real world cities) that hinted at this.

    This is the primary map.
I think this is probably the best map I have ever made.

This is a zoomed up map on a Great Market.
This is from my 2nd book in this setting, and is a WIP.

More WIP maps from this 2nd book, these are all close up sections from the Great Market.

Places I'd hate to navigate IRL: This City. That said it definitely captures a confusing sprawl of an endless city and the maps also look great.

Great work. Love the use of bold colours.

Love the look of this. How did you go about creating this style? Can you point me in the direction of any tutorials you used?

I like the primary map a lot. Gives me some gothic / underground sensations which I think really add character to it. The idea of mixing two differently scaled sizes of street layout is quite interesting and reinforces the idea of a labyrinth.
The way of representing fields dos not work for me though; neither does the use of pink in largE areas of the zoomed-in maps. I think the original spirit gets lost there. It's just my personal opinion, tho
