Map Map for indie Author Rehan Khan by Theredepic

    Hey all,

Here is a small grey-scale map i did for the indie author Rehan Khan. I would like to have changed the typography, but for legibility's sake, we went with a much more straightforward font. Comments are always welcome!

    The white-glow-labels... meh.

The rest of the map... wow!

Thanks for the comments guys! Nice to be back on CG.

And i agree with the white glow labels, but since this map is only 6 x 9" map and its going to be in E-readers and tablets, the author wanted maximum visibility for the locations he felt important! I understood, but I like more natural labeling.

The labels with the white Outline are a little to harsh for my taste, bute the rest is absulutely stunning! Great work (rep!) =)

I agree with the above posts in regards to the white labels (I think poor RedEpic gets the idea ), but whoa. Nice map!

A really fine map. I love the atmosphere it breathes. It really looks like an old book. (save the white outline, but you heard that already.)
The shapes in the sea and the separation markings of Magrog are beautiful.

    Things I can think of:
The mountains have an dark outline and soft shading half the brightness. The forest don't. They have very dark shading and no visible outline. These two styles compliment each other in one way, but feel inconsistent at the same time.
The grasslands texture feel more like a desert to me. The marshlands works really well.

In the end. I love just looking at the map. It takes me to this world immediately. When is the e-book coming out?

I have to say otherwise than most of you ... I really love the labels that are clearly outlined and very readable. This map has so very much easier to read labels than some others that have recently been posted with huge numbers of labels that are on top of drawings of map elements and all have to squinted and stared at to make out what they say.

This could be toned down a little bit and still keep the clarity, but overall this kind of labeling is excellent for a map intended to be read.
