Post Mapping 27 nature areas in Stockholm

Here is a project that kept me pretty busy for a good deal of early 2018.

I was commissioned to map and illustrate the book Upplevelser i Stockholms natur (Experiences in Stockholm's nature), which serves as a guide for 27 natural areas in the Stockholm County.
It's going to be released in August 2018 by Polaris Bokförlaget.
I've illustrated 27 maps with species, 1 regional map of Stockholm County, animal tracks for 10 species and 10 icons for the different features contained within each area.

    Here's the whole collection maps.
Everything is done in pencil and Photoshop.

Yup, I'll echo the others: outstanding work. Both the maps and the illustrations are gorgeous. The color palette creates a very harmonious feel. Fantastic, you should be proud!

They're absolutely stunning, congrats for all the good work !
In a personal point of view and as a nature observer, I find really interesting to see my own area in France have many species in common with Sweden (it's the season for blackberries in my mountains !)
You just made me wish to come back in Sweden, with this guide in my pocket !

    Thank you!
Which bird is not present in the UK? Is it the wood grouse?

Thanks! The landscapes in Sweden are pretty homogeneous so it's pretty easy to get a harmonious palette

    Thank you Bee!
Swedish nature is indeed beautiful. Unfortunately we are having the worst drought in decades right now, so everything is brown and crispy, with lots of wildfires and shriveled blueberries :'(
So if you wish to visit I'd recommend waiting a bit

I think we have that wood grouse up in scotland which we have it called a Capercaille: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capercaille
Its one of them that I have not seen as they are uncommon and I am at the other end of the country. No chance of me seeing it where I live.

It was the Bluethroat that we don't have although it frequently crops up as a vagrant on the East coast of UK so again, unlikely that ill see it. There are two types, one with the white patch and the one that you have illustrated with the white and red.

All the rest I think we have and are not quite so rare. The one you have called Arta we call a Garganey and somewhat unusual, these have been seen a bit more over here this year. The Skaggmes we call a Bearded Reedling and these have picked up in numbers as well and, although locally frequent to me, I seem to be the only person around here who looks for them but has yet to see them.
