I saw an interesting-looking blob on the floor of a parking garage at a convention I recently attended, so I snapped a picture and turned it into a map:

Hehe, I love it! I too love seeking inspiration on the random blotches and stains - it always gives you something you'd never quite get by just freehanding a map. A cool map too. The lines of the coasts are a little too wide and blurry for my taste, but other than that it looks great.
I have done the stain artwork as well, albeit usually a coffee stain on paper as opposed to a mystery stain on concrete. I agree you Kelleri on the notion that it turns out some really cool, and unusual results! Oh and I love the names you've picked for this map, very different!
PS: *wave* from Ligonier way!
Oh, so I'm not the only one who sees maps everywhere !
Well done, Mapsburgh
This is pretty cool, Mapsburgh! I love the overall vibe of this map. Cool landshape...blotches for the win!
You have a very interesting mountain style here...very simple but somehow convincing none the less in the overall map. The only thing that distracts me a bit is the very large outer black line...it is very prominent and blurry if zoomed in.

Still I reach out for the Stars
What a lovely and bold style, really nice job
This is both creative and imaginative. I really dig this.
Such a cool map - and nice to see the inspiration for it. The names are quiet interesting!
I've never thought of doing something like this. Such a cool idea, and nicely executed as well! I'll have to try it for myself someday
