    Default Riftsea

Nothing like waiting until the very last minute to get one more posted for 2023! This is a sorta-kinda remake of one I did years ago, both times just for fun, no intricate lore behind any of it. The skulls were AI-generated using Bing.

    Anyway... peruse? Enjoy?

    And Happy New Year!

Very nice and the skulls are quite striking. Usually you might expect the two to be mirrored of each other but they are actually a little different. I think this is where the AI is a useful addition to the tool set.

Wow, this is very striking, and the skulls are a little terrifying!

It looks great though. It's cool to see a monochrome map in this style, as most black & white maps tend to be of the kind you find in novels (i.e. mostly just line art). Nice to see something a little different with shaded relief.

Nice map! I think I would prefer a colored version of it though.

Yeah, I'm using AI more for accent work than anything, but it does generate some amazing stuff.

    I appreciate it.

You know, I tried it in color and I just didn't care for it. Maybe someday I'll revisit it and try again.

This, sir, might very well be my favorite of all your maps. The skulls are a nice touch, suggesting a darker atmosphere for the setting, and I absolutely agree that the monochrome scheme works perfectly, my thought being that if you ever do try a colorized version of this, the colors should probably be very subtle, offering just a hint of forest, grasslands, and such.

    Well Done!!!

Always good to see another diamond...i mean, a map by Diamond. As with any other map by you, the composition of the landmass just clicks for me. Love it!
I would agree with Ilanthar, though, in that I'd like to see this in color.

Hope to see more maps from you in 2024! No pressure
