Default The First Free City of Markei

    Hello Guild !

How about a city map in the new style I'm currently exploring ?

Welcome to the First Free City of Markei, renowned for its thriving trade, dwarven vestiges and the legendary Yum Yum bakery !

Commissioned map made with Corel painter, Photoshop and Inkscape.

    Original size : 8161 x 6008 pixels, 300dpi.

Wow! This is really cool. It's got an almost comic book feel (in a great way) that reminds me of the classic comics I used to read. I'm expecting to see a panel next that shows knights and their squires entering the city gates. Fun perspective and great colours! The font is perfect for the labels and the icons you've used for the different locations are wonderful!

Always a pleasure to see your work. I like the layout of the city and how it sits hugging the mountain/hill. The border is once again simple and still so elegant. Nice stuff!

    Quite simply... Gorgeous.

I really need to try this isometric style of drawing.

    Awesome!

You did a fabulous job. May I inquire what kind of things you did in corel painter and inkscape for the map?

I love it! Like I said on Twitter, I keep zooming in and out and in and out... The whole thing looks striking and there are so many details!

I really like the stark contrast, but you've packed so much color into it that it doesn't look dark in any way.

That chunky shadowing is PERFECT for your style. This is absolutely wonderous.

Excellent map, I'm a big fan of the isometric style and this one is particularly good. The border is very nice as well.
