    Wip generic village map

feeling very inspired by Venatus Maps, i decided to try my hand at putting down a village map. as part of his Patreon he provides the PSD file for supporters to download. the first thing i looked for and did not find was the use of layer effects on the Tifdin map. to me this is very encouraging! he is able to get an amazing looking map with no layer effects and a surprisingly small number of layers. so, with that said, i present my latest WIP:

I like the map. One thing that stands out to me though is that one of the brown roofs on the top street look weird. You should move the 'diagonal' roofline up a bit. Other than that it look good. What do he surroundings of he town look like?

i think i see the one you're talking about and i noticed it immediately! fixed that as well as laid in the shadows and highlights for the buildings. not really sure how to get the current on the river as everything i've tried so far just doesn't look right, so if anyone has any ideas i'm all ears!

Looking very nice - clean and crisp. The fields seems a little off to me with the crispness of the rest though

I'll be smudging in the hill contours next, so the grass areas should better match the fields.
