Wip January 2016 Challenge :Downtown San Francisco-The Maltese Falcon

So, I jumped on one of Xpian idea here ( hope you don't mind ) I've always been a fan of noir detectives stories (and noir comics aswell) so I'll try to go downtown with Sam Spade on this one. I don't have that much time to involve so this will likely be a quick and simple one. Wait...THIS sounds like pulp, doesn't it?

A first shot with the streets layout. Both top and bottom of the map will be covered by black color so I didn't really bother about stuff here.

I support this idea, and this effort. ;-)

Not a criticism: I recently re-watched the movie, and as I live in the city and know its streets pretty well, I was mapping out the locations in my head as the characters were talking about them. Glancing at the map you've started, my non-expert mind wonders if you've chosen a region that's zoomed-out a little too far? I think most of the action takes place in a small central region of the map, including the finding of Miles Archer's body and Sam Spade's apartment. But I could be wrong. Have you already picked out the points of interest that you're planning to map?

Hehe thanks. Yea I already picked up the points of interest but no worry, the whole top of the map will be covered by stuff so that's all good. (The bottom cartouche will also be different that the one I put).

Should be done very soon Actually I've done a couple of modern city maps (this one was also made for a challenge in 2014) and I used to draw some Noir style illustrations for the RPG Skull and Bones (though it's not a "real" Noir RPG)

Haha, yeah, what Warlin said! Wow, that was super fast, and it looks great too. Love Sam Spade in the corner. Definitely captures the feel of detective noir stories.
