Map Western Galatyn - Fantasy map commission

    Hey all,

This is a private commission requested in some kind of political map similar to the style of the Ireland map I've made for the challenge "map the same place twice" at the Guild in 2013, emulating some very early 18th century maps. WIP thread is here, thanks everyone for the comments there.

Hope you'll like it. As usual, feel free to rate, rep or run away

You gotta stop doing this, Max! You make the rest of us look silly if you keep posting one magnificent map after the other. Can't you post a mediocre map for once? That would make us feel better. 😁

Nah seriously, this is once again a piece of work to drool over. There's so many little details that really bring it to life, and they work together brilliantly. The subdued tones lend it a nice archaic feel, and the labeling is perfect as always.

Aw, I can't rep you right now, Max.
The colours work out so well, and the clarity of the detail is great. This is another brilliant map...

    ...as usual

    Show us some mercy, please!

Brillant. It' s difficult to rep you as you post beautifull map so quickly one after another... This one seems to be cut off some old real book. Where did this land take place ?

It's gorgeous, Max. I love this kind of old map style and everything from the mountains to the labelling to the cartouche is perfect. Great job!

Can't rep either. You'll need to spread your posts a bit haha!

Lovely map Max. This style is one of my favorites, and the WIP was a treat!

Also wanted to add a kind word for you challenge map. I really liked it – a good example of when less is more.

    Cheers,

Thanks I don't usually spend so little time on a map but it was fitting to the theme in my opinion
