    Map The land of Brushia

Inspired by this recent map by Thomas, I decided to take out my favorite brush pen - which I haven't touched in a long time - and try my hand at an inked map in this style.

The only restriction I imposed on myself was to use just one pen. No liners for finer details, no digital retouching etc. Of all the brush pens I have ever tried (albeit not too many), the Pentel Color Brush is my favorite. My only gripe is that the ink is not waterproof, but it works just fine for black and white drawings and I find the control pretty good compared to the others.

As always, any kind of feedback is welcome.

PS. Yes, the burns are real. I had a blast going back to my childhood, when we were writing secret messages and then would burn them on the sides to make them more interesting.

That's very cool. Just shows what a true artist is capable of, no matter how limited his or her tools...

Very nicely done. I love that it was all by hand with no digital additions.

Thanks, Ilanthar! For the rep too...

Well, this is a cartography forum, not a calligraphy one, and you do maps so much better than most of us...

Your brush work is amazing! Your mountains are fantastic, and the whole map has to me an aura of mystery (although maybe that's just because there are no place names other than the title).

That's an amazing map and I'm very impressed by your calligraphic skills.
I especially like the trees - they are so simple but at the same time look quite realistic.
