    Wip September/October 2024 Challenge: Doomshaft

    Doomshaft
The fortress built over the 300,000-foot deep borehole that plunges into the Lithosphere of the upper mantle. It is the only access to the Totalitarian Warbase and vast caverns of Morokain Discontinuity.

I'm using water color paper which is larger then my scanner. For the final render I'll use a camera but for now you'll have to be satisfied with this blurry edged mess. lol.

I hope to perfect the watercolor this time... we'll see!

Genre: Biopunk Sci-Fi - A world where technology integrates seamlessly with mutated flora and fauna.

    Prompt: Wasteland

Good start what's the name of that prompt generator? We used that for the previous challenge, right?

    Thanks!

I'm doing the previous challenge since I missed it: https://www.cartographersguild.com/s...ad.php?t=52431

    The Wheel of Prompts: https://spinthewheel.io/wheels/w3RWE...FVstcz0xJmU9MA

    The Prompts I received were:
    Elven Settlement.
    Corporate Home
    Wasteland
    Holy Site
    and Forgotten Ruins.

Those are some hard prompts for a Biopunk world. lol.

Doomshaft would make a great band name.

Also, this is a great map so far!

    Thanks, Diamond!

I have been super busy with my work lately which has left me void of inspiration. I have finally been able to add to it.

What do yall think should be in the right boarder zone. I'm imagining some sort of Art Deco style archangel!

archangel sounds interesting. or maybe a portrait of one of the denizens?

I'll go with that! How about a portrait of the nefarious warden of the fort? I wanted to keep it simple; sort of Art Deco.

I found the way to scan it with out the shadowy-overlap problem. I scan it with the bottom left corner in frame then re-scan it with the top right in frame then superimpose the two.

    Finished!

I had a time issue. I taped down my art so I could not see my time stamps on the back, so I looked back at my previous post that said I had only worked three hours. Later I found that the page hadn't loaded and I had actually worked 3:24. Thankfully, I did not go over the limit as far I as feared.
