    I was playing with this for a while...

    Made in Inkscape. This would be a wall placard indicating "where you are".

    When I saw the initial shape it really seemed like a portion of a larger, circular shape...

    Though I don't really know how "urban" this is...

    Absolutely great. I can see a use for this in my own SF games.
    Happiness is knowing your mapping software won't crash partway through an operation.
