    I think this is the world editor for Lineage II.

    Ironically it isn't mapping the real world that is driving this but games.

    It is a new Java library actually. Although once they release it for public use, I'm sure it will go into many games.

    I see this technology becoming very useful to Bethesda as they develop their next Elder Scrolls game.

    Video games may be driving it, that is fine, but if those of you who are familiar and good with mapping make use of it for (close to) real world mapping who cares what force drives it being made and useful

    What is wierd is that looks exactly like so many editors I have already played with, like BF2 Editor or NWN2 Editor.

    its interesting. Its good. But I don't see anything new. Theres several apps like that. Maybe if its free and stand alone - not part of a game then it might be a first I dunno.

    As mentioned above it is part of a new Java library. It can be anything you want it to be which makes it very special. In fact, once it is released it means that MapTool could integrate it. WooHoo!
