Wip Unnamed World Map - Personal

I've been dealing with a lot of personal difficulties lately. In order to try to work through some things I've taken to carrying around my Panobook and working on a map, slowly and in fits and starts. It's been a bit disorienting, actually, to be making a map without first deciding where things are, or even what things are included, as the world doesn't exist. I'm sort of just making it up as I go.

I rarely work with traditional media (paper, pencil, ink, etc.) so it's been a limit-stretching experience.

A few process photos so far. Forgive the poor photo quality.

Cool. I really like that canyon, and the mesas/arches. Gives the whole thing a very distinct SouthWest flavor. Great shading on the mountains.

That's approximately 10K times better than any hand-drawn map I could make.

Ha, thanks! It's weird doing shading without the benefit of Photoshop layer styles.

Thanks, Chickpea and Thomas! One of these days I'm going to make time to enter a Lite challenge. For now, though, scribbling these out is good enough for me.

This is excellent. The shading on those mountains gives them a real focus, like they're a frame and anything beyond them is irrelevant. This is an isolated land, and I bet they have petty squabbles with the folks across the canyon

One day I will learn to draw mountains like those. In the meantime I will enjoy yours immensely. Also, best on whatever difficulties are plaguing you, I hope that they fade quickly for you.

    Cheers,
