July/August 2024 Challenge: The Fall of the House of Cathmay

This is a great challenge idea! Hope we see it again. Anyways, for my map, I picked Gaslight Fantasy. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but after spinning the wheel, I'm going in a totally different direction, because my wheel spins were just too cool not to use them all.

So this will be a map of a 'last toe-hold' on a European-esque continent that is being overrun by ghastly Lovecraftian horrors (I do love em so). Cathmay was once a powerful empire with colonies all over the world, colonies which now hold all the real power. The Lords and Ladies of Cathmay have for the most part departed for greener pastures, accepting lives of lesser power and influence in return for simply being alive, as opposed to the stubborn holdouts in the old country who refuse to relinquish any power and are thus penned up between the sea and the horrors of the continent like rats on a sinking ship.

(And I agree. This type of challenge seems like one we can have often. It stirs up the imagination.)

Was able to get the entire landmass drawn today. Working from home DOES have its perks.

Wow, this is a really cool idea! Kind of reminds me the Vaesen RPG (Link), maybe it could give you some further inspiration (not that it is needed)
