Default Annual Challenge Follow-up: Finishing this bastard!

So, this was my entry in the Annual Mapping Challenge

    http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=31896

As you can see, it's (very) far from finished and we can't leave it like that, can we?!

Not only this is a very dear project of mine, the World of Infis, one of the biggest "problem" we have is unfinished maps...so trying to remedy that on my part, here's my follow-up work on my Annual entry, hopefully up to it's full completion!

Since my world atlas got really big, it's unwieldy to keep it as a single file...so I broke the continents apart and also the island archipelago as another part.

    They are:

COOTAMUNDRA - The unexplored savage continent in the North. Home of many Faz'rukin tribes, old spirits and shroud zones where spirtual and material world come together.

FROZEN BARRENS - The ice desert extension to the West is the mining heart of the world with its rich soils, thriving with diamonds and silver.

    Frozen Barrens parchment 3_0.jpg

GADASH - The "civilized" continent, established home to many races and factions. The land where gods have walked and waged war.

TITAN'S BERTH - An archipelago inside a zone of chaotic and hectic magical forces formed due to the ravaging forces of the clash between two godlike entities.

And here's the whole world map, for visualization easyness:

I decided to start with Cootamundra, since I believe it'll be my hardest part...

Was wondering for a B$W version, but I believe I like a parchment like version more...

    Here's my first meddling...

Glad you didn't quit on this one; it should be pretty epic.

Thanks Ilanthar and Diamond for the words! Hopefully I can deliver on this!

Here's an update. I started working on the western mountains range following my commitment of full handdrawn on the whole World of Infis megamap.

Had to look quite a bunch of mountain tutorials and maps until I got them to this...what you guys think?

I'm really loving the look and feel of those rivers.

Thanks xpian! I used 4 layers to create the rivers "body" and later on used Eraser at 1px to create their varying width along their courses. I'm glad how they turned out and happy people are enjoying them!

A tiny bit more progress with the complete west mountains...

Here's a version with a slightly blur to settle the mountains "down" at the map representing a bit of ink "bleeding" of sorts, along with rivers...what you guys think? Better?

Matter of taste, but I prefer the first one without the blur. In fact, I would probably try to get a paper texture less blurry by improving the resolution.
On a different subject : mountains and rivers are really excellent .

Awesomesauce that mountains and rivers are interesting! spent some time on them!

Here's a new version with improved paper texture for hopefully better results and also my first tentative at my "Spirit Abyss", which is a connection that Cootamundra has directly with the deeper parts of the Inner Spirit Realm...

First, something I forgot to say last time... my rivers were done after I saw the amazing TuT by Jezelf and his amazing style! I don't have the tut with me, but I'm certain people can still find it in the tut section! Totally should check it out if you haven't!

Now... I'm starting to foresee a problem...I have no idea at all how I'll do the forests Specially on Cootamundra, supposed to be a heavy density forest jungle, unexplored and savage.

While I think, I decided to work on Frozen Barrens mountain range. This continent is a very cold artic-like environment. The "Anglorand" the long-running river that cross the continent has its surface completely frozen, while running deep and hot due to the much warmer temperatures coming form deep within earth, with its volcanic activity.

This mountain range is heavily explored by Olorok mining corporations, that extract the silver/diamond rich depths!

    Here's it so far...
