Here's the global map for the Neosol systems. It's intended to be a general view for navigators.
In this setting, there are three categories of space ships & travels :
- the interstellar travel with gigantic space ships called "astronefs" or "cosmonefs" and which can travel at a speed 1 to 3 times the speed of light. They carry the orbiters. Faster than ligh travel is bit like old sailing : it requires to "raise the anchor", "unfold the wings" and launch a probe for direction (after navigation course is computed), passing by some sort of intertwined dimension, affected by waves and solar winds.
- the interplanetary travel with big Orbiters, which are propelled by MPD-CIRS (magnetoplasmadynamics drive coupled with cold inertial reduction systems) drives, at speed from 1 light minute per hour to 3 light minutes per hour. They can't go to the surface, and then carry space shuttles.
- the space shuttles, which are more small and aerodynamic, are able of atmospheric travel and land on planetary surfaces.
