Hello. I "joined" a number of years ago but have only recently gotten the map-making bug again. My maps are for a book I'm writing. I'm just awful at spatial relations and have aphantasia which means I can't picture things in my mind/imagination. I thought this was normal until I had kids Anyway, I'm hoping to make maps that can help me visualize a lot of the details of how one place relates to another place. I have access to Photoshop and Illustrator, but I've been finding it just more fun to draw on Procreate. The last time I made maps, I used Fractal Mapper and finished off in Photoshop. I played around with Wonderdraft and loaded about a gazillion free assets, but I ended up feeling like I just couldn't get things to look how I wanted (well, I only got as far as mountain ranges).
Mostly I've been watching tons of tutorials. And looking at all the incredibly amazing maps here.

Hi and welcome (back!) More and more people seem to be using Procreate these days instead of PS. I hope you can make what you want with whichever software you use, but if you need help with anything, just ask.
