    Default Al Qatan (WIP Commission)

    Hi all!

It's been a while since I've posted a WIP. Here is one of my current projects, a commission which is a more detailed portion of my previous Arcannan Map. It is the same idea as Eastmott and Frostmarch map; mapping a part of the world map in greater detail.

Without further ado, here is the map which covers a large desert portion.
Note: the very eastern portion of the map is unfinished, so ignore that.

As always, critiques and comments are really helpful!

It is gorgeous ! Have you thought about adding a river that dies in the desert ? The mountain range in the middle of the map and the valley could be great for that. Glad to see more maps from you Josiah

Looks good, Josiah. As always, your mountains are really good and I like the farmland along the river.

If I could make a small suggestion: how would it look if you dropped the opacity on the lines, shadows and highlights in the desert? To me it looks a bit too busy at the moment.

Also, I really like the concept of revisiting parts of an earlier map in order to explore an area in more detail or in a different way.

    Thanks Thomas!
No, I haven't thought of that, interesting suggestion! I'll look into the possibility.

This is looking pretty cool, Josiah. You always have such great color in your maps.

I do think Wingshaw's suggestion is a good one.

Already great, which is not a surprise. Previous suggestions are already good so... I'm just gonna watch .

Really nice job your mountains are top notch. Maybe more rives overall with all those mountains or a high level lake? Great start, looking forward to this one!
