    Map Map of Ranavei

Heya, here is a world map I made about one year ago, for a fantasy author. I wish I could have added a scale, though, but the author hadn't had a clue about it

Any advice is more than welcome !

This is a great piece, Tiphs! Looking for any advice? The terrain seems a bit flat and empty to me. I think it's not necessarily something that's "wrong" with the map, but rather a matter of taste. If you'd want to break that, you could add some subtle lines or dots to suggest terrain.

Also, while your rivers seems mostly okay, there are some that go from an ocean, all across a continent, and end up at the ocean on the other side. This is something that isn't phisically possible. I won't try to explain it, as I will probably do a terrible job at it, but you can take a look at this thread to see what I mean.

All in all, I really like this one! Great work!

Sinon, pour la carte, like Daniel says, A bit barren for my taste but you have cool land shapes and a wonderful ocean

I like the overall feeling of the map. The one thing i'd wish for is a better resolution, so that we can zoom in and see the details. As it is, it is difficult to give more in depth comments (although i'd agree with Daniel about the possibility of adding more features to the landscape).

    Thanks everyone !

Yeah, I've never thought about the emptiness of the land, I knew that something was bothering me but I didn't know what. Well, seems you've helped me find it !
I take note for the rivers, though I know this fact, my client insisted on it and redrew them on the map, so I added them… I'll try harder to convince them next time.

    Thank you very much again

I'll just echo the others; a beautiful map, even if a bit empty. The one river, as mentioned, is not right, but if this was what the client wanted, there isn't much a cartographer can do. A beautiful map nonetheless. As I've already said, glad to see your work up here as well. I look forward to seeing more.

Very nice. I like the sparseness and the land mass shapes, though it might be nice to add a few lakes or other inland bodies of water. Also, I find the relatively sharp/dark lines in the background texture a bit distracting. For instance, the lines in the upper left by the Culmenian region. I would also love to zoom in a bit more to see the detail up close.
