Brand new to this board and cartography in general.
I joined in hopes of learning how to make a good campaign map for a 2nd Ed. D&D campaign and there appear to be some great maps on here. Any good first steps anyone can recommend?

Welcome To The Guild. It would be helpful to have a little more information. What size map are you looking to make. World, Continent, Kingdom, City ? . When you decide that the next thing to decide is what type of software (if any) you want to use. After that check out the tutorial section. There are many helpful articles for all the popular software. Here are some links for you

WOW I did not think there were many others still using the 2nd edition rule set.
