    Default Moon Shot

The moon is supposed to be very large over the next couple of days. Anyone have moon shots they want to share.

The moon is very big and full.

I cleaned these up a bit in photoshop.

Shot with an Sony A55 and a Minolta 500mm reflex. I'm still getting the hang of this so any comment or advice is welcome.

Dollhouse Syndrome = The temptation to turn a map into a picture, obscuring the goal of the image with the appeal of cute, or simply available, parts. Maps have clarity through simplification.

I took some yesterday when it was at perigee but I only had my little digicam with me so the shots are not good really. I have taken better moon shots in the past if you want some of those. Heres a few. Full moon but slightly eclipsed, fully eclipsed moon (blood moon) and a crescent moon which I think are better as you get to see all the craters on those.

Very pretty. What did you use to take them?

Same digicam but on the back of a small telescope. Its good for the moon and bright stars but no good for nebulae. I think you need to track the sky to get a shot of that. I have written an app which composits multiple shots together to lower the noise but its still not good or easy to do low brightness things in the sky. This is about the best I can manage of Jupiter and its moons.

Awesome, we should use these on a challenge I think.
