Post June/July Lite Challenge Entry: Satellite

I thought I would give this challenge a try and give myself some practice with the techniques I recently learned or am still learning.

Not too bad at all for a beginner.

Agreed, and way to jump right in and take on a challenge HTram! Welcome to the Guild.

How great to see a new member jump straight into a challenge. The challenges are there to improve your skills (and there's nothing like a bit fairy dust reward and a time-limit to do that). The only thing I would suggest at this stage (as you're mapping onto a sphere) is to use the spherical distortion filter (or GIMP equivalent) to spherise your clouds and sea texture.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Also thanks for the suggestion ravells.

I used a lens distortion here to give the image more spherical depth.
