Default Have you seen this style and know where to find it?

Ok.. I am looking for some reference material for an idea I have in my head. I am looking for a good and decently high resolution hand drawn mountain(s) from a fairly close aerial view. The Ashenport Town Map by Mike Schley has a small example, but I would welcome any additional reference material. I KNOW I have seen such things, but can't really find anything via google that fits the bill.

Oh.. and just to clarify, I am trying to avoid using hachure lines to indicate any height changes(rather, I mean as in a series of regularly sized/shaped lines is what I want to avoid as in Mike's map) as this is meant to be more of an "artistic" representation than anything else....

Like I said, I would be able to find some reference materials.

Dorpond developed a style a while back that you might find useful: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...s-in-Photoshop

In that style Mike Schley did another called "Vaasa" which uses pretty much the same technique.

Hands down so far, my favorite hand drawn mountains have to go to Torstan for these. They are the bomb diggity.

Thanks Jax, and why Torstan's map IS just that darn good... it's not what I am after... I have "played" with something that has a bit of promise this AM, but the wifi here won't let me connect.... so I might just have to copy to flash drive onto this computer to upload... Likewise, Mike's map of Vassa is cool.. but not exactly what I am going for....

There is this which is a closer up view as well as Torstan's Goblin Mines map(from back in 2008 or so) that are really close.... the former map is just to close up as well as the mountainside only occupies a small portion of the image, but that map is quite close to the idea in my head....

Not sure what the Goblin mines are that you refer to but he's done a few that nicely done hand drawn styles. In looking for the Goblin mines you mentioned I did see this one however. I also seem to remember Gamerprinter doing a nice mountain type thing in a challenge a few months back. I dunno man.
