Inspired by Freodin's excellent Elmsriggen map, I give a Blaeu-style map a try.

Looks very nice so far, Sap. Looking forward to seeing more.
Royal: I'm very sorry for your loss, your mother was a terribly attractive woman.

Thank you. The map is in its early stage, still.
First step is completing the 'essentials' (geographic features), second step the deco and other elements like compass and scale bar, coat of arms etc..

Sapiento, you really like eastern seas, don't you?

It's looking very pretty, though I would ask why so many villages are so far from those fine water sources ... maybe there are Shadow-fish-people living in the rivers?

Placement of towns isn't finished yet. So far I tried more to get feeling for the density.

Waiting in suspense of how this works out! Nice start... and I dare say a lot faster than my version.

This map is one of these which you have constantly in the back of your mind, but you never get the last kick to do them - so thanks for the inspiration.

As a professional cartographer I have always to find a way to make a map fast and good looking.

A shield with title and a scale bar added, next will be a compass and town names.

In addition to my compliments for the beautiful map, I wish to add a remark...
To my understanding the little circles are the smallest villages, right? If that's so, I think that in a good portion of the landmass they are almost too evenly spaced. In some areas they seems like a sort of grid. Their emplacement could be well the result of some (to me) unkown feature/hystorical reason, but well... I feel a bit cunfused by the regular looking of it.

    Regards
