    Wip Rhûne - 2nd Try

    Heyho,

it's been a while since my last post ... my HDD crashed (again) and since I lost most of my data I was not really into mapping for some time.
But 2 weeks ago I started to read some of the great tutorials again and decided to give it another try.

So here is the second version of my worldmap. Only the north-western area contains some mountains, forests and other stuff ... the rest will follow ... hopefully

    (Caution: Big File ahead)

I would be really happy for any suggestions or advise you could give me.

    Kyr

As always: Sorry for my crappy english.

Hey, this is pretty impressive looking, I can't wait to see more of this land getting filled. What program did you use to make this?

    Thanks for the reply

I'm using Photoshop CS4 (Student Version - dont't know if this makes any difference) and some Elements will be rendered in Poser, but they're not ready yet.
I hope I can upload the next update in a couple of days.

That looks very nice. I'm with fifty; I really like the seas. The coasts look good too - nice transition.

I live up in the mountains, down in a cave, way out west.

Looks great. I just started a Photoshop class last week. Maybe in a few years time I'll post something this impressive

    Hello,

it's been a while since my last update but I finally managed to finished some more parts of the western coast.
I am still practicing with many functions from Photoshop and I'm not really happy with all the things in this map. So I would really like to know what you think about it and if you can give me any advice.

I would say you have a very nice start there. I have few things you could try.
    - Make the rivers slightly wider each time a new river join the main stream (see the small attached sample).
    - Draw the forest a bit further towards the mountains, so that the forest climbs up the mountainside. It will make it more natural and joins the mountains with the surrounding lands nicely. In order to make it work well, make sure your forest layer blending mode has been set as "multiply" to make it follow the mountain profile.

Just keep on going and I'm sure by looking at the progress so far that it will be great...

Thanks for your reply and your suggestions

They are really helpful, since I'm trying to follow your tutorials anyway (thanks for sharing them ).
