Wip [WIP] Island of Eren A'dunai

Somehow a mixture of Arsheeshs Eriond Tutorial and Parsis recent Works have inspired me to give this a try in my Lunchbreakbreak.
The Image is a compressed but full resolution. I was impressed how easy it was to create convincing stone textures with Gimp. I hated it before, because I was a Photoshop-Only-User but have to say that the Bumpmap filter of Gimp is far more supreme than my Bumpmap filters in PS CS4. But the Differenceclaud filter was crap in Gimp, so basicly I did the Clauds in PS and the Bumpmap in Gimp, which has fantastic and different regulations for experimenting.

In the end i started to like this so much I will write a small Setting for it.

Labels will coem next, the basic map here is already enjoyable for me.

I started to like the Bumpmap function in Gimp. Here is a texture generated for free use.

that river (or strait, not sure on the scale) looks great! I tries some things like this before but I always tend to go back to the more 'hand-drawn' effect maps, though there's no denying these are very pretty

Huh, y'know I've always liked Pasis mountains and texture work but have never been able to duplicate them in GIMP, but I think your mountains look better than anything I've been able to achieve with GIMP fractal clouds. I think you may be on to something Schwarzkreuz. Look forward to seeing how this develops.

    Cheers,
    -Arsheesh
