    Default Watercolour Map

    Hi there!

This is a map I've drawn and watercoloured some years ago, for a GURPS campaign. Quite old fashion (I tend to use mostly digital tools nowadays), but thought worth to share...

That is a beautiful map. Simple and wonderfully done. Love it.

Thanks guys! I'd like to have still the time to sit at my desk with pencils and watercolours... Now what I do it's more assembling than drawing, if you know what I mean.

    Lovely!

Question: what kind of paper did you use? Local stores near me only have very rough watercolour paper and that never really works for me. I really want to try this.

    Thanks guys :-)
I've used a thick drawing paper with a nice texture, which imitates parchment. I've bought it some time ago in an art shop near the Accademia of Belle Arti, in Milan, where I live. I don't have more details on that unfortunately...

Great job, beautiful work, I love it.

@Blaidd Drwg - Look up "Cold Press" finish watercolor paper. It's quite smooth and not expensive. I didn't even know there were various types of watercolor paper but I didn't like that really rough stuff either. Cold press is more like a piece of poster board and it should work. I got mine at a Michael's store. Some folks tape their sheets down and pre-soak the paper in water as well so as to get rid of warpage that can occur later on. I haven't tried that yet.
