Default Sabbak is me, I'm Sabbak. So Hi!

    Er... hello everybody, everybody hello!

I'm Sabbak from Switzerland and a very, VERY, VERY amateur cartographer. What I've seen here is truly amazing compared to my poor little pen&paper skills...
Anyway, I'll share with you an old town map made for the Lone Wolf RpG: Holmgard, capital of Sommerlund.

Whoah! That's awesome! And I'm glad to see another Lone Wolf fan around here.

    Thank you!
And if you like it, I have some more... What about Toran?

I must confess that reading the Lone Wolf books with there gorgeous maps at the beginning has a great deal with my interest and both Fantasy worlds and cartography!

Maps in the Intro thread, and not just one but two, is well deserving of some rep And welcome to the Guild, The Mappiest Place on the Web.

We here at the Guild LOVE hand drawn maps, and these are well worth praise. Well done.

Wow - you have nothing to be shy about - those are nice! Welcome, and another smidgen of reputation. Care to tell us what you use for these cities?

Not sure to understand your question...
I use informations in the Lone Wolf gamebooks (and RpG, and other fan resources like old tower of the sun website...) to organise the shape of the city.
And I use pencil and black ink pen to draw the stuff... H... I think it would be better to scan-and-paste them on some "old paper like" background...
    ...in another lifetime I suppose!

Nothing stopping you from doing that even now. just port them into an editor (like PS or Gimp) remove the white and place a parchment texture underneath. And there you have it..

    Nothing.... but the time!
You know, you know, this osbcure untouchable concept scavenged by all your ordinary lifetime priorities like... er... children? Wife? And... ho, I forgot: real job!
Anyway, I tried this... not very impressive, I know (I have to practice a lot) but, that's a first attempt!

Very impressive! I like the way you shape and stack the buildings, preserving the streets without actually drawing them in.

    oh...yeah....Real Life....kinda forgot about that.

Nice try, and even that adds something to it. There is some lose of lines though so you might have to add some thickness to the roads and river banks when you do the inking in future. Or touch them up a bit in the editor.
