    Default Napa!

    Final.jpg

I recently completed a map of the Mayacama Mountains in Napa for Tricycle Wine Partners. The process by which we got to the final result was interesting, so I put a lot of the intermediate steps and sketches into a blog post. You can see all the intermediate sketches here: Mapping Napa Vineyards | Fantastic Maps

The live interactive map (yay jquery!) can be found live on the client's site here: http://www.tricyclewine.com/Map

    That's absolutely gorgeous, love it.

One potential thing that I'd have liked would be the "Pacific Ocean" label in perspective, as if it was lying down on top of the ocean, to add a bit more perspective to the background. Other than that it's stunning. Might have to steal that style

Agreed - I tried the perspective label in one of the sketches, but for legibility went back to the flat text.

Beautiful! The mountains are awesome, and I like the subtle colors. I think your first sketch had a better composition though… Too bad the client didn't realize that

I was just up there over the weekend! Really great (and accurate) work - I can pick out exactly where I live...
