    Post Hello there,

    My name is Dr. Wolf.

I'm not a real doctor, nor am I a wolf. An old nickname.

I'm a long time D&D aficionado, just now getting into playing online with my buddies, who are scattered across the eastern US. We're using RPtools and Skype.

I'm making my maps using photoshop and illustrator, fudging them together out of stuff I'm finding on the web. Interested in refining my skills and making better maps. I also love the old paper and pencil look of hand drawn maps.

Here's a work-in-progress (of a map whose purpose is passed.)

Post Nice start, but the forests...

    Welcome Dr. Wolf!

I love hand-drawn maps as well - is this your work? I like the mountains and the nice black line on parchment look.

I see where you're going with the forests, except the "copy past move or multi tree brush" (whatever you used) is too obvious. Even when I duplicate multiple copies of tree groupings (and I do that sometimes too) I create more than one grouping of trees, and sometimes copy and rotate as well. That way placement looks far more random and realistically hand-drawn appearance.

    Other than that, nice start!

    Again welcome.

Welcome to the Guild. I like your map, it looks really cool, and love the 'weathered' look to it.

Well, for one, I've got to be honest with you up front, even if it's not the most flattering thing ever...

    I'm sad you're not a real doctor.

Welcome! Well, as much welcome as a fellow newbie can give, right?

As far as your map goes, I really like that aqua-blue/green color for the sea. It's very nice.
