    Question More Cartography Communities?

I was wandering around Reddit and found www.reddit.com/r/papertowns, and thought you guys might like it. Got me thinking though - are you guys part of other cartography groups/forums/blogs etc? If there are sufficient links between the communities, who knows might make a cool abstract map ;)

I was hoping someone who pays more attention might say something here, since I don't really know much. Maybe a bump will garner a bit more attention. Anyway, the only other major community for mapping I am aware of is Cartotalk.com. They're a real-world mapping community, though, rather than focusing on the fictional maps that are the largest part of what we see here.

The Dundjinni user forums have lots of support for that one program, but there is a good deal of user-contributed art that can be gleaned from there. Profantasy maintains a forum specifically for their own products that is pretty active, which is why you don't see a whole lot of Campaign Cartographer users here.

There also lots of blogs and forums dedicated to roleplaying and board gaming generally that have map sections or occasional features. There was actually one recently that opened a regular cartography feature and were offering to pay contributors, but I don't remember the name. A look down the list of threads in the General Forum will probably turn it up. I think it might have been the most recent thread I started there.

    sort of a cartographic group

    the former celestia "shatters.net/forum"
and a very small group around a fork of that software "Celestia-SCI. "

primarily just full planet and moon maps of this solar system and a few KNOWN Exo-Planets

right now i am in the process of making all of MY maps for OUR solar system easier to access
    planets
    dwarf planet ( pluto , Ceres )
    moons
    minor moons
    Asteroids
    Comets

Tbh, the most authoritative place that I've found for fictional cartography - outside of the Guild - is reddit.com/r/worldbuilding

This subreddit's mission is to encompass ever aspect of creating a world from top to bottom: geography, climate, orbital mechanics, biomes, fauna, vegetation... the works. However it remains extremely biased towards map-making (some in the sub even say the amount of maps is actually debilitating to it's post-diversity) .
