Wip WIP - Noteus al Vastat

    Hi! Long time, no see!

I've been working a bit on a map lately, and something about it feels very off. I don't really know what, though. I plan on dotting out some cities and such later on, but for now I want to have a steady foundation.

    Does anyone have any feedback?

    Thanks everyone!

Hey Tjecce. (Long time no see for me too, I guess.)
Looking at your map I see three very distinct parts, and individually, they are quite awesome, but they don't fit together. The water is really unique, looks chiseled out of stone. The landmass is more traditional, but very well done, with lovely colors. The title is cool, a bit over-the-top in my opinion, but could work depending on how the rest of the text is done. I'd love to see each of these elements, but not in the same map. So my suggestion is, pick one style and make the rest of the elements match, and keep the "discarded" styles for another map.

I completely agree with Lingon. And I really like what you've done with the sea, very "greek" and original.

Thanks for the feedback! I see the problem, and I rebuilt the textures for the land. I don't really know how to make the towns/titles and such at this point, but I'm testing out some alternatives.

Anyway, here's the current version of the map

Unfortunately, it still has the same problem in my eyes. The new style for the land is another really nice one (the crumpled paper effect for the mountains is great) but it still feels like two different materials. To match that Greek-stone-carving badass ocean, you'll probably need a Greek-stone-carving looking landmass too. And I like the colors of the first version more actually, that bright green is such a nice color and is perfect next to the muted blue sea.
