Default Hi, I'm Chris, from Florida, USA.

Hello. I've known about this community for a while, but since I've not really done much in the way of map-making, I didn't consider joining until recently. I love gaming, especially pen & paper RPGs. I'm 43, and been playing classic RPG games since before my teens. After 'growing up', I still play. In fact, I've been designing them as well. Nothing commercial so far. Mainly rough designs that I keep to myself or share with friends. I prefer sci-fi game settings, but I'm no stranger to fantasy and supernatural genres as well. Glad to be here.

    Chris

Hello Chris, welcome to the Guild! You'll certainly find a lot of friendly fellow gamers here, including me

Are you planning to start some serious mapmaking now, perhaps something we can see when you are ready to share?

Hi Chris, welcome to the guild! Glad you decided to join up. It is a really fantastic community of map-makers and related esotery. Being new to map-making is a great reason to join and I'm totally looking forward to seeing any maps you decide to work on here. The Work-In-Progress forums are a great place to take something from a sketch on a napkin to a completed map, so feel free to jump right in.

    cheers,
    Meshon

    Thanks, chick, and Meshon.

chick, I'm not really sure. I'm mainly going into more serious game design recently, and just thought being here would be helpful. I'm more of a writer than a mapper. The maps I've made before have been very, very simple.

Well, like Meshon said, there's no harm in jumping in and getting your feet wet

There are tutorials all over the place to help you get started!
