    Default Hello from France ^^

    Salut !!

I've read quite a few tutorials and loved many of the maps I've seen here, and so I decided to join what seems to me to be a great community.
Working to redo a map for my own RPG setting, I think that to ask some advice from the community here will be a big help, so...

I work exclusively with photoshop (I don't "get" Gimp or other software) and hope to make a beautiful map one day (complete, at last...).
I use maps essentialy for setting building (Star Wars and my own mainly, but also homebrewed ones by friends), my goal being to flesh them out in their cartographic glory.

PS: I hope my english isn't as atrocious as I think it is...

    Welcome to the Guild!

This is a wonderful place to get help, tips, crits, and general feedback and encouragement on your maps.

PS - Your English is perfect. I never would have guessed it's not your native language.

Ton anglais est très bien, pas de soucis.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay, I've only been here for a bit but I've loved it, people are nice and there's tons of good tutos and examples to get inspired by.
(I wonder how many other frenchies we have here ?).

Hello Marcigny, Welcome to the Guild!

There is a great tutorial in the sticky section of Tutorials, called Quickstart Guide to Fantasy Mapping: http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=4276

From there, go to Hand Drawn Mapping for the Artistically Challenged: http://www.cartographersguild.com/sh...ad.php?t=10655

Once you have completed those two tutorials, you'll be well on your way!!
